Abstract


The Souk Al-Atik know in French as "Souk des oiseaux" (Market of birds), was destroyed in a couple of days in November 2006. The place was protected by the UNESCO world heritage convention, because in the buffer zone of Old Damascus.
The Syrian journalist Waed Almhana heared the activity of buldozers and advertised too late, just could constate the destroying. Immediatly, he alerted medias, and UNESCO world center. He also wrote an article, to publish this information and try to awarness about the "Way of destruction of Old Damascus".
